Prizes will be awarded to participants with the most “likes” on social media for their effort and their ability to get moving while making a difference!
Habitat Youth
Habitat Youth is a dedicated team of nearly 300 students from seven Habitat service groups representing local high schools in Hunterdon and Somerset Counties. They have created a virtual community fitness event – Stay Safe, Stay Fit.
About Stay Safe, Stay Fit
The purpose of this event is to help individuals and families stay physically fit, build virtual camaraderie and use their time to support the RV Habitat mission of providing affordable home ownership opportunities to build strength, stability and self-reliance for area families. Your participation will build hope and transform lives in our local community!
We invite you to be a part of STAY SAFE, STAY FIT. Together, we can get moving and help make a difference for families in our local community.
How does it work?
STAY SAFE, STAY FIT is a virtual event of movement-based activity that you choose.
Walk-Run-Pedal-Dance-Row-Yoga, however YOU like to get moving, do it!
Pledge $1, $5, $10 or $15 to help Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. Registrants can make an even greater impact by asking friends and family to sponsor their participation.
Once you register for the event with your pledge to STAY SAFE STAY FIT, we’ll invite you to a private Facebook group where we’ll share information and guidance for the event.
During the weekend of April 16th to 18th, all participants will take part in any movement-based activity that you choose. Each day during the event will have a suggested fitness activity, but YOU decide how you want to move and how often. Outdoor activities are welcome, provided they are singular or same-household member activities, at least 6 feet apart from others.
Habitat Youth will get participants ready and motivated with a pre-event kick-off on Thursday evening, April 15th at 7pm.
Prizes will be awarded to those who share the most-liked photos and/or videos of their Stay SAFE STAY FIT experiences throughout the event on social media using the hashtag #RVHFHStaySafeStayFit. A prize will also be given to the high school chapter that generates the highest level of donations. All participants will receive a virtual certificate of completion.
Will you join us? Together, we can Stay Safe, Stay Fit and help make a difference for families in our local community
